Flipkart Listing Optimisation: Titles, Images and Attributes That Rank

Updated 27 October 2026 · 3 min read · By the LabelCroppers team

On Flipkart, a large share of shoppers narrow results with filters – brand, size, colour, fabric, price. A listing with missing attributes simply disappears from those filtered results. Good Flipkart listings are complete first and persuasive second.

Fill every attribute

Flipkart's category templates contain many fields: fabric, pattern, sleeve, neck type, occasion, fit, age group, ideal for, and so on. Fill all of them accurately. These power filters and help Flipkart match your product to searches. Incomplete listings may also be flagged for quality.

Title formula

Flipkart often generates or structures titles from brand, product type and key attributes. Where you control the title, use: Brand + Product type + Key attribute (fabric/pattern) + Ideal for + Colour/pack. Keep it natural and avoid repeated words.

Images

  • A clean main image on white or light background, product clearly visible.
  • Front, back, side and close-up of fabric or detail.
  • Model images for fashion; dimension images for home products.
  • Consistent lighting so colours match across variations.
  • High resolution – check the current Flipkart image guidelines for minimum size.

Key features and description

Write short, specific key features: material, comfort, fit, care, what's in the pack. In the description, answer common questions and mention use-cases (school, party, daily wear). Avoid unverified claims.

Variations (size and colour)

List sizes and colours of one design as variations so shoppers can switch on one page and ratings stay together. Keep the style code consistent across all variations.

Bulk listing tips

  • Download the latest category template – old templates often fail validation.
  • Keep a master product sheet with all attributes for every SKU.
  • Use consistent SKU codes (STYLE-COLOUR-SIZE).
  • Upload a small batch first, fix errors, then upload the rest.

Listing quality checks

After listings go live, search for them the way a shopper would and apply filters. If your product disappears when you tick "Cotton" or your size, an attribute is missing or wrong. Fix and recheck.

Writing key features that sell

Key features appear near the top of the product page and are read on mobile. Make each one specific: "100% cotton, 160 GSM – soft and breathable" is better than "high quality fabric". Cover the five questions shoppers ask: what is it made of, how does it fit, how do I care for it, what is included, and why is it better than the alternative.

Variation and colour naming

Use standard colour names that match the image (navy blue, maroon, mustard) and keep naming consistent across your catalog. Inconsistent names confuse filters and shoppers. For kidswear, use consistent age labels across all styles.

Image consistency across a catalog

A catalog where every product has the same background, angle and lighting looks like a brand, which builds trust. Shoot all products in a collection in one session with the same setup. Clean backgrounds with the background remover and resize to the required dimensions with the image resizer.

Keeping listings healthy

Revisit listings monthly: update images if competitors look better, add new keywords from search suggestions, refresh the size chart if returns mention fit, and remove variations that never sell.

Checklist

  • All template attributes filled
  • Title follows formula
  • 5+ images with consistent colour
  • Key features written
  • Variations grouped
  • Live listing checked through filters
