Size Charts and Fit Guidance for AJIO Sellers

Updated 27 October 2026 · 3 min read · By the LabelCroppers team

Accurate size information is the most effective way to reduce fashion returns on AJIO.

What to include

  • Garment measurements per size.
  • Inches and centimetres.
  • Fit type.
  • Model height and size worn.

Consistency

Keep sizing consistent across styles and flag exceptions.

Measuring garments

Measure garments flat: chest (pit to pit × 2), length (shoulder to hem), sleeve, waist and hip as relevant. Measure multiple pieces per size to confirm consistency.

Fit communication

Add short notes such as "relaxed fit, size down for a closer fit" and the model's height and size.

Kids and footwear

For kidswear give age and height; for footwear give foot length in centimetres.

Grading and production consistency

A size chart is only as good as your production. If pieces in the same size vary by several centimetres, shoppers will see inconsistent fit regardless of the chart. Measure a sample of each size from every production batch and compare against the chart; correct the pattern or tolerances where needed.

Presenting the chart

Use a clean table with sizes as rows and measurements as columns, in both inches and centimetres. Add a simple diagram showing where each measurement is taken. Put the most important measurement for the product type first – chest for tops, waist and inseam for trousers, length for dresses.

Helping shoppers measure

Add a simple guide showing where to measure and suggest comparing with a garment the shopper already owns. Include the model's height and size. These small additions reduce the number of shoppers who order two sizes and return one.

Example size chart (illustrative)

  • S | Chest 38 in | Length 27 in | Shoulder 17 in
  • M | Chest 40 in | Length 28 in | Shoulder 17.5 in
  • L | Chest 42 in | Length 29 in | Shoulder 18 in

Use your own measured values – these numbers only show the format.

Fit language that helps

Simple phrases such as "true to size", "relaxed fit – consider sizing down" or "fitted – size up if between sizes" give shoppers confidence. Use them consistently across your catalog.
