Meesho seller guide
How to Sell on Meesho: Complete Supplier Guide for Beginners
Meesho has become one of India's largest marketplaces by order volume, built on value-conscious shoppers in smaller towns and cities. For suppliers, its biggest draw is 0% commission – you keep the selling price, minus shipping and any return costs.
This guide takes you from registration to a steady flow of daily orders.
What you need to register
- Mobile number and email (both verified by OTP).
- PAN – personal or company.
- Bank account in the same name.
- Pickup address where couriers will collect orders.
- GSTIN, or an Enrolment ID/UIN if you are not GST-registered (allowed only for certain categories).
Registration is free at supplier.meesho.com. With documents ready, sign-up takes minutes; verification typically takes a few days.
GST or Enrolment ID?
With a GSTIN you can list in all categories. Without GST, sellers can register with an Enrolment ID/UIN and sell in permitted categories, but most categories require GST. If you plan to grow, getting a GSTIN early saves trouble later. See selling on Meesho without GST.
How Meesho makes money and what you pay
Meesho charges 0% commission on product sales. You still pay shipping (by weight slab and delivery zone, with GST) which is deducted from your settlement, and you bear costs when orders are returned or not delivered (RTO). Advertising is optional. Our fees guide explains how to calculate profit.
Upload your first catalog
On Meesho, products are uploaded as catalogs – groups of similar products. Each needs clear images, price, sizes, stock and product details. The first image is what shoppers see in the feed, so it must be clean and attractive. See our catalog upload guide.
Your daily routine once orders arrive
- Accept orders and keep stock accurate.
- Pack carefully and click Ready to Ship only when packed.
- Print labels in one batch – crop them to 4×6 with the Meesho label crop.
- Hand parcels to the pickup on time.
- Check returns and claims every day.
Account health from day one
Meesho ranks suppliers partly on performance: cancellations, returns, ratings and dispatch speed. A few cancellations in the first weeks can hurt visibility. Only list stock you physically have. Read Meesho account health.
Common beginner mistakes
- Pricing without including shipping and returns.
- Using blurry or collage images.
- Listing products that are heavy for their price.
- Not filing claims for wrong or damaged returns.
- Running ads before catalogs have any organic orders.
What sells well on Meesho
Meesho's shoppers are mostly value-seeking buyers, many in tier-2, tier-3 cities and smaller towns. Affordable women's ethnic wear, sarees, kurtis, kidswear, men's basics, fashion jewellery, home furnishing and kitchen items are consistently strong. Light products are easier to make profitable because shipping is charged by weight. Before choosing products, scroll the Meesho app as a shopper in your category for a week – you will quickly see the styles and price points that keep appearing at the top.
Payments and cash flow
Meesho settles payments to your bank account on a regular cycle after delivery, net of shipping charges and return adjustments. Plan your cash flow for the gap between buying stock and receiving payment, and for returns that are deducted later. Check the payments section of the supplier panel every cycle and reconcile it with your orders.
Growing beyond the first orders
Once your first catalogs get orders, look at which designs sell and upload more designs in the same style and price band. Keep your account health excellent, add Meesho Ads only to proven catalogs, and prepare stock for festive season early. Our 90-day growth plan sets out the order of work.
Meesho compared with Amazon and Flipkart
Meesho's zero commission and simple onboarding make it the easiest marketplace to start on, especially for value-priced fashion and home products. Amazon and Flipkart offer larger audiences for branded and higher-priced products but have more fees and stricter standards. Many sellers start on Meesho to learn demand and operations, then expand proven products to other marketplaces.
Checklist
- PAN, bank, pickup address and GSTIN/Enrolment ID ready

The Meesho label crop on LabelCroppers crops the Meesho label half of every page to a 4×6 thermal label, drops or keeps the invoice, skips blanks, sorts by SKU and merges several accounts into one print file.
