Meesho Packing and Dispatch SOP: Ship Faster with Fewer Errors
When orders grow from ten to hundreds a day, a written packing routine is what keeps errors, cancellations and late dispatch at zero. Here is a simple SOP you can adapt.
Daily routine
- Fixed cut-off time – process all orders received before it.
- Download labels from the supplier panel in one batch.
- Crop to 4×6 with the Meesho label crop, sorted by SKU, with a picklist.
- Pick products from SKU-labelled bins using the picklist.
- Quality check each item.
- Pack and stick the label; match SKU on label to product.
- Record packing video for high-value orders.
- Mark ready to ship only after packing.
- Hand over to pickup and keep a manifest.
Packing materials
Keep polybags in sizes that fit your products without excess, tape, label rolls and fillers for fragile items.
Error prevention
Use clear SKU codes (STYLE-COLOUR-SIZE), separate bins per SKU, and a second check for multi-item orders.
Setting up the packing area
Arrange the space in a line: picking shelves, QC table, packing table with polybags and tape, label printer, and a dispatch area for sealed parcels sorted by courier. A logical flow prevents mix-ups.
Training new packers
Write the SOP on one page with photos, show it during training, and have a second person check the first week of a new packer's work.
Measuring the process
Track orders packed per hour, wrong-item claims and late dispatches. When numbers slip, review the step where the problem starts.
Choosing packaging
For clothing, use polybags sized to the folded product with a tamper-evident seal. For fragile items, use boxes with fillers. Lighter packaging lowers shipping charges; stronger packaging reduces damage returns – balance the two for each product.
Handover and manifest
Count parcels at handover, get the courier's scan or signature on the manifest and keep a copy. If a parcel is later reported as not received, the manifest is your proof.
Checklist
- Cut-off time set

The Meesho label crop on LabelCroppers crops the Meesho label half of every page to a 4×6 thermal label, drops or keeps the invoice, skips blanks, sorts by SKU and merges several accounts into one print file. The low shipping image maker prepares catalog images in the style many Meesho sellers use. Everything runs in your browser – your orders and customer data are never uploaded.
