FirstCry Catalog Guide: Listing Kids' and Baby Products That Parents Trust

Updated 27 October 2026 · 3 min read · By the LabelCroppers team

Parents on FirstCry read carefully. They want to know the age fit, fabric, safety and comfort before buying. Clear, accurate listings convert better and reduce returns.

Age ranges and sizing

Use age ranges consistently (0–3 months, 3–6 months, 1–2 years, 3–4 years and so on) and provide height, chest and length. Children of the same age vary, so measurements are essential.

Fabric and comfort

State the exact fabric (for example 100% cotton), softness, lining, closure type (snap buttons, elastic, zip), and any comfort features like tagless necks or flat seams.

Safety details

Mention safety-relevant information: no small detachable parts for young babies, non-toxic dyes where claimed and certified, BIS certification for toys. Never make safety claims you cannot document.

Product names

Brand + product type + key feature + age, for example "Brand Baby Girls Cotton Frock with Bloomer, Floral Print, 6–12 Months".

Images

Clean flat-lay and worn images, close-ups of fabric and closures, size chart image. See kidswear photography.

Attributes

Fill gender, age, fabric, pattern, sleeve, occasion and set contents so products appear in filters.

Set contents and what is included

For sets (top and bottom, three-piece outfits, multi-pack bodysuits), list exactly what is included and show all pieces in images. Missing-piece complaints are common when this is unclear.

Care instructions

Parents wash kids' clothes often. Clear care instructions (wash temperature, drying, ironing) prevent shrinkage complaints and returns.

Keeping the catalog current

Update listings each season, mark out-of-stock ages correctly and remove discontinued styles so parents do not land on unavailable products.

Naming and age consistency

Use the same age format everywhere – in titles, size options, size charts and on physical size stickers. Mixing "2Y", "2-3 Years" and "24M" confuses parents and pickers alike. Pick one format per age band and stick to it across your catalog and your warehouse.

Why detail reduces returns

A parent who knows the exact fabric, chest width and length, closure type and what is included rarely returns the product for "not as expected". Every detail you add to the listing answers a question that would otherwise become a return or a low rating.

Photography and listing consistency

Use the same age labels, measurement units and image style across all listings. Consistency makes your brand look professional and helps parents compare styles quickly.
